It is with sadness we announce the passing of one of MMI’s original volunteers and a continuous supporter, Ron Behlen. Ron slipped into the arms of Jesus on April 23, 2026, and is now reunited with his “freckled face, red haired girl” Donna. Ron recently celebrated his 90th birthday and had the opportunity to be with many family and friends.
In the early years of MMI, there was a regular group of 5 – 6 volunteers who did everything – pick up, sorting, boxing, and shipping. Ron was one of this original group. Ron was on the MMI Board of Directors for three years. He will be missed as a colleague and a friend. His Celebration of Life was held in the G.L. Johnson Chapel at Peoples Church on Friday, June 5, 2026.
A Note of Gratitude from our Founder:
MMI’s volunteers have been instrumental in driving our organization’s growth and success over the past 28 years. The dedication of our past volunteers laid the groundwork for our present volunteers, who have continued to build upon and refine our efforts. As we move forward, we are excited to see how our future volunteers will further expand our reach and enhance our ability to provide medical care to those in need. We are deeply grateful for the time, energy, and passion that each of our volunteers brings to our organization. The loss of Ron, a loyal and committed volunteer, is a poignant reminder of the importance of honoring the legacy of those who have come before us. We take comfort in the knowledge that Ron’s faith has secured his eternal future. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time, and we offer our sincerest appreciation to all our volunteers, past, present, and future.
