Another container shipped in November has safely reached Grace Hospital in Isiro, Democratic Republic of the Congo—bringing much-needed supplies to a community eager for care and hope.
Dr. Jean Claude Bateneni has been a longtime friend of Medical Ministries International, and we are grateful for the many years of partnership with him. He and his wife, Dr. Christine Bateneni, both serve as physicians at the newly opened Grace Hospital, which began serving patients in 2023.
The city of Isiro has experienced rapid growth in recent years, leaving the healthcare system stretched far beyond capacity. In a province of nearly two million people—and within a 300-mile radius—Dr. Jean Claude is the only residency-trained surgeon of any kind. As word of the hospital’s compassionate care has spread, patients have quickly overwhelmed the small facility, and a waiting list for non-emergency surgeries has already formed.
MMI’s container shipment will significantly increase Grace Hospital’s ability to serve more patients, perform more procedures, and provide care with dignity and excellence. This support moves the hospital closer to its vision of becoming a center of excellence for patient care, medical training, and gospel-driven outreach to the surrounding region.
We praise God for the faithfulness of partners like the Batenenis and for the opportunity to come alongside this growing ministry at such a critical moment.
