VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH

Volunteers are the backbone of Medical Ministries International! From picking up surplus medical equipment to packing boxes, training new recruits to restructuring inventory systems, MMI volunteers are playing vital roles in MMI’s mission of supplying hope through medical aid!

Laurel Friesen is a faithful volunteer who joined the team about three years ago after reading a magazine article about MMI’s work around the world. She was intrigued by the mission because she had seen great need firsthand, serving in medical facilities in India, Uganda, and Guatemala. Additionally, as a retired nurse with extensive experience, Laurel felt as though she could use her years of experience and talent to make an investment to serve those in need. She was right! Laurel serves at MMI in multiple capacities. She’s a weekly volunteer in Clovis and assists with training of new volunteers, writing procedures, and sorting/packing medical supplies. She also serves on MMI’s Partnership Council – a team of professionals whose primary function is to focus on fundraising efforts.

Among Laurel’s most compelling reasons for her sacrifice of service… the reality that medical supplies that would be discarded now open the door for missionaries to share the message of hope found through Jesus Christ. Join Laurel at MMI’s Clovis location on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9am-12pm and you, too, can use your gifts to make a difference for those in need!
